Ham and Bean Soup

Nothing warms me up on a rainy winter day like homemade soup. This Ham and Bean Soup uses up that big ham bone I stuck in the freezer after Christmas. Watch and see how easy it is to make, then print out the recipe!

And the recipe

Ham and Bean Soup Recipe

Ingredients:

Hambone with meat

2 pounds white beans, soaked 8 hours or overnight

5 red potatoes, cut into bite-size pieces

5 carrots, cut into bite-size pieces

Put everything in crock-pot and cover with water. Cook on high 8-12 hours and serve!

Vary the ingredients, add seasonings, add more or less water. Have fun, this is just a starting point. For a thicker soup, remove the bone after cooking time. Carefully process 1-2 cups of soup at a time in blender or food processor. Pour back into pot and stir. Repeat until desired consistency. You can also add mashed potatoes or dried mashed potato flakes to thicken.
