Transitions – Brief Update

urban homestead

2017
was a year of transition. We moved to the urban homestead and are no longer on the road full time. I miss it. But the simple life principles I took from the homestead to full-time RVing I have taken with me to the Urban Homestead. I am not using all my simple principles. Just as many as are practical in a multigenerational citified home. I still have lots to share about simplifying and minimizing in the city as I try to make my dad’s home more sustainable. We are still homeschooling long distance. I definitely have a lot of ideas to share about that. It is not easy all this caretaking and driving back and forth and the busyness really goes against what I have worked to simplify in my life.
2018
finds me more settled in and ready to tackle some new projects for getting my dad’s home to be more sustainable. I am sharing simplifying tips specifically for the city like grocery delivery which you can start reading about here. I’m also helping with my grandchildren, shuttling them back and forth a couple of days a week.
A video about making Orange-Lemon Marmalade is in production right now for the YouTube channel. When that’s up I will publish a companion post with the recipe in case you want to try it.
Just a brief update, for now, to let you know I’m still around. Check out some of the articles above, subscribe to Mrs. D’s Homestead on YouTube for my latest videos, and join my newsletter and Facebook group for unique content.
